CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. 97-112
RESOLUTION MODIFYING THE SEWER PERMIT LOAN
PROGRAM TO ENCOURAGE RESTAURANTS
THROUGHOUT THE CITY
WHEREAS, restaurants are the types of businesses which the City Council has determined to
be highly desirable for Pleasanton; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has found that a major obstacle to restaurants is the sewer fees
which restaurants are required to pay in order to connect to the Dublin San Ramon
Services District (DSRSD), which fees are substantially higher than other
commercial or retail uses; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has in the past considered several alternatives in an effort to
encourage restaurants to locate in Pleasanton, including a loan program to
encourage restaurants to locate in the downtown area; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting of September 16, 1997, the City Council considered the report of the
Director of Building Inspection (SR 97:287) concerning a proposed expansion of
the loan program to include restaurants that are not to be located in the downtown
area;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council adopts the Loan Program described in the attached to encourage
restaurants to locate throughout Pleasanton.
Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
