CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO.97-111 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />SIGN, AND THE CITY CLERK TO RECORD, QUITCLAIM <br />DEEDS TO PROPERTY OWNERS ALONG ST. JOHN <br />STREET CONCERNING PORTIONS OF ST. JOHN STREET <br />THAT ARE SURPLUS AND TO KOLL BERNAL AVENUE <br />ASSOCIATES CONCERNING A TEMPORARY <br />CONSTRUCTION EASEMENT <br />WHEREAS, the City owns 5t. John Street in fee title; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1996 the City Council authorized the St. John Street Reconstruction project that, <br />in part, resulted in the street, measured curb to curb, being narrowed from 54 to 32 <br />feet; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result, there is now about 10 feet of property on both sides of the street that <br />the City owns but has no further need; and <br />WHEREAS, in that this property is in the front yard of the ten homes that front this street, the <br />property owners along St. John Street have requested the City to deed that property <br />to them; and <br />WHEREAS, this property is surplus and has no value other than useable space to the adjacent <br />property owners; and <br />WHEREAS, in 1968 the City of Pleasanton was granted a temporary construction easement to <br />install sewer lines on property now within the Koll Center; and <br />WHEREAS, the City was also granted an easement to operate and maintain these sewer lines; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the sewer lines have been installed; and <br />WHEREAS, the property owner has now requested that the City relinquish only its temporary <br />construction easement. <br />
