CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 97-98 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF <br /> TRI-CITY CAB COMPANY FOR A CERTIFICATE OF <br /> PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TO <br /> OPERATE A TAXI SERVICE IN THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Tri-City Cab Company has applied to the City for a Certificate of <br /> Public Convenience and Necessity to operate a taxi service in the City of <br /> Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as provided in Chapter 6.40, Pleasanton Municipal Code, the police <br /> department conducted its investigation as to the applicant and has provided <br /> to the City Council a positive report and recommendation (SR 97:3 15); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council considered this application on July 15, 1997, however <br /> because proper notice was not given, the matter was again heard at a public <br /> hearing on August 5, 1997, at which time oral and documentary evidence <br /> was considered; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that further taxicab service in the City is required for <br /> the public convenience and necessity and that the applicant is fit, willing <br /> and able to perform the requirements of Chapter 6.40 and any and all rules <br /> promulgated by the Police Chief. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Resolution No. 97-90 is hereby rescinded. <br /> <br />Section 2: The City Council declares that the public convenience and necessity require <br /> additional taxicab service. <br /> <br />Section 3: Authorizes the Police Chief to issue to the Tri-City Cab Company a <br /> certificate, as provided in Chapter 6.40, Pleasanton Municipal Code, said <br /> company to do business under the name "Tri-City Cab Company". <br /> <br /> <br />
