CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 97-88 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING A TOW SERVICE <br /> AGREEMENT FOR THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been an increase in the number of tow companies requesting to be <br /> included in the police department's rotational tow list; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order for a tow company to be included on the rotational tow list, there <br /> are requirements for the tow companies to meet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Pleasanton Police Department has reviewed the existing Rotational Tow <br /> Agreement and protocol and recommend that the Agreement be revised; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department recommends that tow companies meet certain <br /> conditions before they will be included on the rotational tow list, including, <br /> but not limited to, restricting companies to operate from, or within 1/2 mile <br /> of, Pleasanton, restricting the number of tow companies on the list, <br /> requesting companies to conform to the Tow Service Agreement's <br /> operational conditions, and requiting conformation with established <br /> guidelines concerning the required qualifications of tow company drivers; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Pleasanton has considered the proposed Tow <br /> Service Agreement. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves the revised Tow Service Agreement and authorizes its use by the <br /> Police Department. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and <br /> adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
