CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 97-78 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON IN SUPPORT OF THE MIRA~ <br /> HART, AND MURRIETA DECISIONS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton believes it is important to ensure that cities and <br /> counties have the right to consider school facility impacts when making <br /> certain land use decisions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, cities throughout the State of California currently rely upon the Mira, Hart, <br /> and Mur~eta decisions with respect to mitigating school facility impacts; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of California currently has a backlog of $6 billion with respect to <br /> school facility construction; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Governor and some development interests have supported legislation to <br /> repeal the Mira, Hart, and Murrieta decisions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the codification of the Mira, Hart, and Murrieta decisions would ensure <br /> that cities and counties continue to have the right to consider school facility <br /> impacts when making certain land use decisions; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: That the City of Pleasanton oppose any attempts to repeal the Mira, Hart, <br /> and Murrieta decisions. <br /> <br /> <br />
