The minutes were approved as corrected_ <br />3_ MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS <br />THE PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY <br />ON THE AGENDA_ <br />There were none_ <br />4_ REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Ms. Decker advised that Commissioner Arkin requested that Item G_d_ Ron Winter, be <br />continued to the meeting o£May 11, 2005_ Commissioner Arkin advised that he had been <br />approached by several members of the public who requested more time to review the staff report, <br />which had been released on Friday. Chairperson Maas noted that public comments may be taken <br />for the item but that there would be no staff report or Commission discussion or action. <br />Ms. Decker advised that Item 6.£, PDR-446_ Hamid Taeb, would be continued to the meeting of <br />May 1 I, 2005. <br />5_ MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />There were none. <br />6_ PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS <br />a_ General Plan Update-Draft Vision and Principles <br />Discussion and reach general agreement on a Drag Vision and Principals for public <br />review <br />Ms. Stern summarized the staff report and noted that community input was necessary For the <br />Vision Statement to be meaningful. The goal for this hearing was for the Planning Commission <br />to reach agreement on a Vision and Principles Statement that could. be Forwarded to the City <br />Council on May 3, 2005 and then out for public review and comment_ The revised Statement <br />would return to City Council in .l my 2005 with the Planning Commission's comments. She <br />requested the Commission to express its preference for the narrative or the bulleted form acid <br />noted the difference between a Vision Statement the t3na1 products and the principles (the <br />instructions to reach the final product. <br />Commissioner Blank noted that Pleasanton has been known as "A City of Planned Progress" and <br />added that as Pleasanton approaches buildout, the City looks to preserve its quality of life.
