CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 97-56 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 1997 WEED <br /> ABATEMENT PROGRAM SUPPLEMENT AND <br /> AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PROCEED WITH <br /> ABATEMENT OF WEEDS, RUBBISH OR REFUSE <br /> UPON OR IN FRONT OF CERTAIN DESCRIBED <br /> PROPERTIES WITHIN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> WHICH CONSTITUTE PUBLIC NUISANCE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of May 20, 1997, Council adopted Resolution No. 97-49 <br /> declaring as a public nuisance all weeds, rubbish or refuse upon or in front <br /> of certain described properties within the City of Pleasanton as more <br /> particularly set forth in Exhibit "A", attached thereto; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Resolution 97-49 was adopted pursuant to the provisions of <br /> Government Code Sections 39501-39588; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said Resolution No. 97-49 designated June 3, 1997, at the hour of 7:00 <br /> p.m., at the Pleasanton City Council Chambers, as the time, date and place <br /> to hear and consider objections to the abatement and removal of weeds, <br /> rubbish or refuse upon or in front of certain described properties within the <br /> City of Pleasanton more particularly set forth in Exhibit "A" to Resolution <br /> No. 97-49; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Fire Inspector was charged with the responsibility to perform the duties <br /> imposed by Government Code Sections 39560-39588, and he did prepare <br /> notices to destroy weeds and remove rubbish and refuse, and did in the time <br /> and manner prescribed by law cause copies of the notice to be <br /> conspicuously posted on or in front of the property where the nuisance <br /> exists; the City did mail written notice of the proposed abatement to all <br /> persons owning property described in Resolution No. 97-49 in the time, <br /> form and manner prescribed by law; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council did hold a public hearing on June 3, 1997, and the only <br /> protest was from Ernest Jones; <br /> <br /> <br />
