<br />r <br /> <br />, <br /> <br /> <br />4G <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />pLEASANTONo <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />March 7, 2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN <br />APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION <br />PROGRAM FUNDING FOR 2007 ANNUAL RESURFACING OF <br />VARIOUS CITY STREETS <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of March 7, 2006: <br /> <br />I, Adopt a resolution authorizing the application for Federal Surface <br />Transportation Program funding for 2007 Annual Resurfacing of <br />Various City Streets, committing the necessary local match funding for <br />the project and stating the City's commitment to complete the project. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) is currently reviewing <br />applications for the Local Streets and Roads Shortfall Program (LSRS) <br />Cycle 3 SAFETEA (Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation <br />Equity Act) funding under the Surface Transportation Program (STP) and <br />the Congestion Management Air Quality Program (CMAQ), <br /> <br />This application would provide $408,000 in federal funds and require <br />$1,153,000 from gas tax funds to complete the project. The $1,153,000 in <br />gas tax funding will come out of the existing Annual Resurfacing CIP <br />project funds, <br /> <br />SR 06:071 <br />Page I 00 <br />
