<br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06-007 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING THE MASTER FEE SCHEDULE TO <br />INCLUDE A FEE FOR NOTARY PUBLIC SERVICES <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasant on's City Clerk's Office has provided notary services to the <br />general public for many years for free; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, free notary services unfairly compete with local businesses that also provide the <br />services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, no other nearby cities offer notary services for free; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, providing notary services is very time intensive and staff time is increasingly <br />preCIOUS. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Amends Section IB of the Master Fee Schedule to add a Notary Public Fee at the <br />amount set by the State of California (currently $10 per signature) <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 7, 2006 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, Thome, and <br />Mayor Hosterman <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />'~rJ:l~F~ <br /> <br />Michael H.
