The Pleasanton office market is recovering. with vacancy rates dropping from 19.2 <br />percent in 2002 to 13.9 percent in 2004 Gust slightly higher than the 2004 Tri-Valley <br />rate of 13.6 percent) and asking rents on the rise (from $1.60 to $1.75 between the <br />fourth quarter of 2003 and 2004). Third quarter 2005 data showed average asking <br />rents up to $2.05 and vacancy of 10.8 percent. <br /> <br />. Pleasanton's industrial market is also rebounding, with vacancy rates of 5.7 percent <br />in third quarter 2005. Despite historical downward trends since 2001, industrial rents <br />were also beginning to increase over the period with average asking rents up from <br />$0.91 to $1.01 between the end of 2003 and 2004. <br /> <br />High housing costs in Pleasanton reflect strong market demand and local quality of <br />life. However this trend makes home ownership inaccessible to many Pleasanton <br />workers. <br /> <br />. The 2005 median household income for Alameda County was $65,750 for a two- <br />person household and $82,200 for a four-person household.
