MATTERS BEFORE THE COMMISSION <br /> <br />A. Proiect UDdate and Review of Fundinl! ODtions for Alviso Adobe Communitv Park. <br />CIP 987025 <br /> <br />Mr. Fulford advised that the Alviso Adobe, one of the oldest structures in the City, and its surrounding <br />seven (7) acre site have been identified by the California State Office of Historic Preservation, the City <br />Council, and the Parks and Recreation Commission as having great potential for historical interpretation <br />of Pleasant on's past, which includes the rich Native American history. The site is located at the <br />intersection of Foothill and Old Foothill roads, and is the former home of Meadowlark Dairy. <br /> <br />This park property was acquired by the City in the early 1990's as part of the park dedication requirement <br />for the adjacent Laguna Oaks housing development. In 1996, the City Council approved a seismic <br />stabilization project to restore and strengthen the basic structures of the Adobe, and the work was <br />completed in 1997. <br /> <br />As part of the Capital Improvement Program (CIP), the City Council allocated funding in FY 1998/99 to <br />develop a Master Plan for formal development of Alviso Adobe Community Park.
