She noted that the parking report did not state what time of day the conditions were <br />observed. <br /> <br />Deepak Malhotra, 5261 Genovesio Drive, spoke in opposition to this item. He expressed <br />concern about the safety of his children near the streets and that the parents would make U-turns <br />and use other people's driveways to turn around. <br /> <br />Maria Latsis, 5045 Carducci Drive, spoke in opposition to this item and noted that the blind <br />corner made parking very difficult. She noted that there was a mix of ages of the children and <br />that when she had been on the HOA board, they had investigated several traffic calming <br />measures which were not implemented. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fox inquired whether the Traffic Department could place a lighted speed limit <br />sign in the neighborhood that would flash when the speed limit was exceeded. <br /> <br />Ms. Nerland noted that a private street such as this did not fall within the jurisdiction of the <br />Public Works Department. <br /> <br />Jagath Kadurugamuwa, 5210 Genovesio Drive, spoke in opposition to this item and agreed with <br />the statements made by the other speakers. He noted that he expected a residential neighborhood <br />when he moved in and did not want the neighborhood to turn into a business area. He expressed <br />concern about the liability issues as they relate to the HOA and the residents. He inquired what <br />the age group of the children would be. <br /> <br />Mr. Thuse noted that they had three vehicles, one of which he used to drive to work at 7:30 a.m.; <br />he generally came home around 9:00 p.m. He noted that the second car was used by his wife and <br />his college-aged son, who also worked in Dublin. He noted that only one car remained at the <br />home during the day and that one parking space was set aside for employee use. <br /> <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED. <br /> <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Roberts about the procedure if someone in Ruby <br />Hills (a gated community) were to open a large daycare, Ms. Decker replied that the same <br />analysis for that development would be performed.
