<br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasant on's City Clerk's Office has provided notary services to the <br />general public for many years for free; and <br /> <br />Whereas, free notary services unfairly compete with local businesses that also provide the <br />services; and <br /> <br />Whereas, no other nearby cities offer notary services for free; and <br /> <br />Whereas, providing notary services is very time intensive and staff time is increasingly precious; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOL YES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Amend the fee schedule to add a Notary Public Fee at the amount set by the State <br />of California (currently $10 per signature) <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 7, 2006 BY THE FOLLOWING YOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Councilmembers - <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Dawn G.
