<br />/ <br /> <br /> <br />4" <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />February 7, 2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR CURB <br />AND GUTTER REPLACEMENTS, CIP PROJECT NOS. 045009 <br />AND 045003CS <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following actions at <br />the meeting of February 7, 2006: <br /> <br />1. Accept the improvements for these projects. <br /> <br />2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for these <br />projects. <br /> <br />3. Authorize final payment to AJW Construction in the amount of <br />$2,131.80 for ClP No. 045009 and $1,852.50 for ClP No. <br />045003CS. <br /> <br />4. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $7,158.73 to <br />AJW Construction for ClP No. 045009 and $1,164.25 for <br />045003CS thirty days after filing the Notices of Completion. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Construction of these projects is complete and ready for acceptance. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On July 19, 2005, the City Council awarded both of the construction contracts for these <br />projects to the lowest bidder, AJW Construction of Oakland, in the amount of $136,641 <br />for ClP No. 045009 and $22,580 for ClP No. 045003CS. <br /> <br />SR 06:044 <br />Page 1 of3 <br />
