<br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 06-001 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS <br />USING RUBBERIZED ASPHALT CONCRETE (RAC) FROM THE <br />CALIFORNIA INTEGRA TED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Public Resources Code Section (PRC) 42872.5 allows the California Integrated <br />Waste Management Board (CIWMB) to award grants to public entities for funding <br />of public works projects that use RAC; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CIWMB has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the <br />RAC grant program, setting up necessary procedures governing application by <br />local governments under the program; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said procedures established by the CIWMB require the applicant to certify, by <br />resolution, approval of the application before submission of said application to the <br />State; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if awarded a grant, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of <br />California for development of the project. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The submittal of an application to the CIWMB for an SB 1346 Rubberized <br />Asphalt Concrete Grant is hereby authorized. The Director of Public Works or <br />his/her designee, of the CITY OF PLEASANTON is hereby authorized and <br />empowered to execute in the name of the CITY OF PLEASANTON all necessary <br />applications, contracts, agreements, amendments, and payment requests hereto for <br />the purposes of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes <br />specified in the grant application. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br />
