He noted that Trumark's directive was to hire the best consultants, architects, <br />landscape architects, and civil engineers for each prof ect_ He noted that they would <br />present appropriate architecture. He noted that he would listen carefully to the <br />comments made by the public and the Commissioners~ <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED~ <br />Wayne Cullen, 8008 Canyon Creek Circle, noted that he respected Trumark aRer <br />seeing some of their other developments- He expressed concern about traffic safety, <br />and noted that the residents had been unsuccessful in reducing the 45 mph speed <br />limit- He noted that speeds as high as 55 or 65 mph were quite common on that street; <br />when I-580 becomes congested, the street becomes very busy- He noted that the creek <br />had been a point of contention for many years with respect to the severe erosion that <br />has begun eating into the tot lot_ <br />Mr_ Cullen expressed concern about the amenities, and noted that their park was a <br />private park- They have been trying to convert it to a public park; their main concern <br />was that of liability- They have been unsuccessful to date, in part because of the small <br />size of the park X2.5 acre s~_ <br />Mr_ Cullen expressed concern about the 5-foot gap between the "granny house" and <br />the western side of Canyon Creek, which was incompatible with Canyon Creek <br />Circle- He expressed concern about noise, views, and general incompatibility, <br />especially with the western side of the Canyon Creek Circle development. He noted <br />that the noise from the freeway was a concern~ <br />Bill Turner, 8158 Canyon Creek Circle, did not believe this was an appropriate place <br />to locate additional families- He noted that there was no school bus service, bike <br />lanes, or walking paths on Dublin Canyon Road, so there was no way for children to <br />get to and from school safely- He noted hat there was no regular DART bus service <br />on Dublin Canyon Road, and believed that there was no safe way for people to get to <br />and from the grocery store, the mall, or the regular bus stops on Foothill Road_ He <br />concurred with Mr_ Cullen's statements about the speeding vehicles on Dublin <br />Canyon Road_ <br />Jay Shah, 8020 Canyon Creek Circle, noted that he and his wife recently moved into <br />the neighborhood, and that he had researched potential developments with Planning <br />staff behind their property before they bought the house- He understood that the <br />property was zoned for low impact housing if any development were to occur there. <br />He expressed concern about the layout of the property, and noted that two granny <br />units that directly faced their back yard. He expressed concern about the level of <br />privacy. <br />Commissioner Roberts advised that there was no school bus service anywhere in <br />Pleasanton_ <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINiJTES May 14, 2003 Page 8 <br />
