I 1 . MATTERS FOR COMMISSION'S INFORMATION
a_ Presentation by Alan Kropp regarding Geotechnical Issues
Phil Grub stick, G'ity Engineer, presented that staff report. He advised that this
presentation had been requested by the Conziriissioziers in order to better understand
geotechnical issues as they affect applications before the Commission.
Alan Kropp, Principal Engineer, Alan Kropp 8t. Associates, Inc., provided an extensive
PowerPoint presentation on earthquake and landslide stability issues and answered the
Commissioner's questions.
b_ Other Matters for Commission's Information
Chairperson Arkin wished to address the Atrium Building on 6155 Stoneridge, and
thanked Marion Pavan for the information. He did not believe the picture and the
building looked the same.
Commissioner Roberts noted that she did not care for the retro SOs look of the building,
and noted that the panels were not attractive.
Mr_ Iserson noted that the substitution of the turquoise panels for the glass affected the
appearance of the building. He noted that the City had approved those panels.
Chairperson Arkin noted that he would not approve any modi£cation to the site unless
the panels were also changed.
G'ommissioner Maas noted that there was often a difference in appearance from the
artist's rendering to the actual building, and added that this design change was an entirely
different matter. She noted that the Commission could learn from this situation for future
applications.
Commissioner Roberts advised that she received a letter from PGBcE, stating that on
May 22, the 230KV lines would be energized. She expressed concern that the two roads
had not been connected.
12.
