He leR the dais. <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED_ <br />Jon McCurdy, applicant, noted that the reason for changing to five lots on the lake was the <br />large size of the Costas lot. The two lots on the south side of the street encroached on the <br />Hahner property; Mr_ Hahner had asked for immediate compensation after he took over the <br />property. He added that the situation was simplified by putting the I3ve lots on the north <br />side, and one lot on the south side. He noted that it did not change the density or the <br />numbers for the financing plan. He noted that there had been a problem with access to Lot <br />6, and Delco seemed to have worked out the problem with. Mr_ Hahner. <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Kemeny, Mr_ McCurdy noted that the height of <br />the house was a concern and that more flexibility in height would be desirable. He did not <br />remember seeing anybody use the trail, but understood the District's concern. He noted <br />that he would be able to live with the 23-foot height. <br />Mary Roberts, 1666 Vineyard, agreed with staff's decision not to have temporary road, and <br />believed it would be a real danger. She noted that Brian Swift had been working with <br />residents regarding the noise issue. She noted that a new noise source had. impacted her <br />neighborhood in the form of an asphalt batch plant, directly across from the Hahner <br />property_ She noted that it was noisy and smelly, and added that she had written to <br />Supervisor Haggerty, the East Coitrtty Plac~ning Commissioners, RNIC/Lone star, and the <br />City Council about this plant. She noted that it did not go through the public review <br />process, and believed that something had to be done about it. She did not believe the #S lot <br />would be affected, although the lots near the Hahner property would be affected. She <br />added that the lights were very bright and intrusive. <br />THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED_ <br />In response to an inquiry by Commissioner Maas, Mr_ Pavan replied that staff would <br />support a recommendation that disclosed the location of the asphalt batch plant <br />In response to an inquiry by Chairperson Arkin, Mr. Pavan replied that they were not able <br />to locate the implementation plan for the green building measures for the Busch property. <br />Chairperson Arkin noted that he had spoken with Ms. Nerland, and believed that the <br />project plans should be updated to include the green building standards. <br />Commissioner Maas could not support requiring green building req uircir~ents for six <br />homes. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES January 8, 2003 Page 17 <br />
