All managers with unused administrative leave as of December <br /> 31st will be paid for said leave during the first pay period in January of the succeeding <br /> year. <br /> 6.5 Leaves of Absence <br /> 6.5(1) Leaves of Absence Without Pay <br /> The City Manager may grant a management or confidential employee leave of <br /> absence without pay or seniority not to exceed three (3) months. No such leave shall <br /> be granted except in writing and upon written request of the employee setting forth the <br /> reason for the leave. Upon expiration of a regularly approved leave, the employee <br /> shall be reinstated in the position held at the time leave was granted. Failure on the <br /> part of an employee on leave to report promptly at its expiration or within a reasonable <br /> time after notice to return to duty shall be cause for discipline up to and including <br /> termination. Department directors may grant full -time middle management and <br /> confidential employees leave of absence without pay for not to exceed one (1) <br /> calendar week. Such leaves shall be reported to the Administrative Services Director. <br /> 6.5(2) Jury Leave <br /> Management and confidential employees called or required to serve as a juror shall be <br /> entitled to paid leave from his /her duties with the City during the period of such service <br /> or while necessarily being present in court as a result of such call. <br /> 6.5(3) Military Leave <br /> Military leave shall be granted in accordance with the provisions of the law. All <br /> employees entitled to military leave shall give the City Manager an opportunity within <br /> the limits of military regulations to determine when such leave shall be taken. <br /> 6.5(4) Extended Medical Leave <br /> Any regular or probationary employee who is temporarily disabled from work due to a <br /> medical condition may, upon written request to the Administrative Services Director, <br /> be granted by the City Manager, a leave of absence without pay for a period not to <br /> exceed twelve (12) weeks beyond the exhaustion of any accrued sick and vacation <br /> Page 14 of 31 <br />
