CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 05-081 4...'0 RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF PLEASANTON REQUESTING THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PROPOSED ANNEXATIONIDETACHMENT NO. 148 (VINEYARD A VENUE REALIGNMENT) PURSUANT TO THE CORTESE-KNOX-HERTZBERG LOCAL GOVERNMENT REORGANIZATION ACT OF 2000 WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to initiate proceedings pursuant to the Cortese- Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000, Division 3, commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the annexation of approximately 11.18 acres and the detachment of 6.91 acres, AnnexationlDetachment 148 (Vineyard Avenue Realignment), and requests initiation of proceedings thereon; and WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed and detached are uninhabited, and a description of the boundaries of the territory is set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein; and WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence of the affected city; and WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed annexation/detachment are as follows: This is a logical realignment of the City limits and the City of Pleasanton should have control over the use and development of the property to be annexed; the City has agreed to return the property proposed to be detached to its status as unincorporated territory. WHEREAS, as to 6.5 acres of land owned by Lonestar Industries that is proposed to be annexed, the City has concerns about proposed uses on that property and therefore requests that LAFCO impose, as condition of detachment, that the County of Alameda refer to the City for its review and comment any land use applications concerning this property.
