CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. OS-068 RESOLUTION AMENDING MASTER FEE RESOLUTION NO. 92-100 TO INCLUDE A PARKING IN-LIEU FEE IN THE DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION DISTRICT WHEREAS, the Downtown Specific Plan, adopted by the City Council in March 2oo2, identifies parking as one of the most important issues for the Downtown and recognizes its role in facilitating the economic vitality of the area both today and as the Downtown continues to grow and intensify; and WHEREAS, the City's parking ordinance, Chapter 18.88 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code, has, for many years, included a provision for an In-Lieu Parking Program whereby development not able to accommodate all of its required parking on site would pay an equivalent sum of money which would be collected by the City and used to purchase land for, and to construct, public parking lots in the Downtown; and WHEREAS, the City's parking ordinance was last amended in 2oo3 to implement the new parking policies of the Downtown Specific Plan and to address related issues with some of the previous parking regulations; and WHEREAS, one of the provisions of the amended ordinance requires that the in-lieu parking fee be updated regularly to realistically reflect land and construction costs; and WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on September 6, 2OOS, at which time the public was offered the opportunity to present testimony regarding this matter; and WHEREAS, after review and consideration of the materials presented, the City Council determined that the proposed parking in-lieu fee of $14,000 per parking space in the Downtown Revitalization District is acceptable and reasonable to encourage continued development and redevelopment of Downtown properties in a manner consistent with the Downtown Specific Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOL YES AS FOLLOWS: Section I. The City Council amends Master Fee Resolution No. 92-loo to reflect a parking in-lieu fee of $14,000 per parking space in the Downtown Revitalization District.
