<br /> . <br /> Economic Restructuring: The Economic Restructuring Committee includes four board members and <br />approximately 12 volunteers and property owners. The committee works to improve the economic vitality of <br />downtown through business recruitment and retention. The committee continues to assist the existing businesses <br />and property owners in the district through information, networking and programs. Within the committee are the <br />Parking Sub-Committee and Side Street Sign Taskforce. <br /> Design: The Design Committee includes two board members and approximately six volunteers. This <br />committee is involved in recommending and commenting on planning and design issues to the City. They are also <br />involved in coordinating with the City to implement projects in the Downtown Specific Plan, A necessary <br />component to any downtown is public restrooms, This year, the Design Committee worked with city staff on a <br />suitable location and design ofthe soon to be, constructed restrooms, in Delucchi Park. The Design Committee <br />continues to promote interest in the historic character of downtown by offering an annual Pleasanton Historic <br />Downtown Walking Tour led by committee volunteer, Charles Huff. Quarterly, the committee selects one <br />downtown property owner or business to receive the NEAT (Neighborhood Environment Attractiveness Team) <br />Award who is then recognized in The Pleasanton Weekly. The committee is currently working on the design and <br />location of an informational kiosk to be built by the PDA. <br />SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS <br />The PDA recorded another successful year, with a number of significant accomplishments: <br />. The PDA organized and orchestrated a total of31 events: (5) First Wednesday Street Parties; (2) Antiques <br /> Faires; (14) Concerts in the Park; (1) Heritage Days; (1) Wine Stroll; (1) Truffles, Tidbits and Tastings; (2) <br /> Inside/Out Sales; (1) Holiday Evening; (1) Annual Dinner; (1) Breakfast wlBoard; and (2) membership <br /> mIXers. <br />. Initiated a Murals Sub-Committee. <br />. Increased marketing of the PDA. <br /> 0 Produced 20,000 Experience Downtown Pleasanton. The brochure incorporates 2 maps, the <br /> calendar of events and a membership directory. <br /> 0 Produced Dining in Historical Downtown Pleasanton guide, <br /> 0 Produced Calendar of Events Schedules. <br /> 0 Sponsored an $8000 holiday advertising campaign which included radio and a live remote. <br /> 0 Coordinated Pleasanton Bone Hometown, a day of community marketing with 107,7 radio station <br /> which also raised over $1000 for Valley Humane Society. <br />. Reorganized staff to increase our marketing exposure through one-on-one interactions with hotels, <br /> wineries fairgrounds, business parks and numerous companies throughout the Tri-Valley. <br />. Produced Downtown Happenings a quarterly membership newsletter, <br />. Produced Welcome to the Pleasanton Downtown Association brochure. <br />. Created opportunities for business networking with 2 membership mixers in April and August; partnering <br /> with the Chamber of Commerce for the August mixer. Co-sponsored a Regional Mixer January in <br /> partnership with the Tri-Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Pleasanton and Livermore Chambers <br /> of Commerce, and the Tri-Valley Business Council. <br />. Provided opportunities for membership feedback with a membership survey and an annual Breakfast with <br /> the Board meeting held July 12th at the Pleasanton Hotel. <br />. The Economic Vitality Committee hosted a Property Owners breakfast to discuss cooperative <br /> opportunities for parking and utilization of the PDA for dissemination of information on available rental <br /> space. <br />. The Parking sub-committee charged with finding ways to improve parking is currently working with <br /> property owners of the 400 block, laying the groundwork for the creation of an assessment district. <br />. The Parking Committee worked with city staff to successfully establish fair and consistent, in lieu of <br /> parking fees. <br /> 2 <br /> , <br />
