Property tax revenues are the single largest revenue source for the City, and accounted for 45.9% of total FY05 General Fund revenues. These revenues came in about $200,000 under projections, about a half percent variance. The table below shows a ten-year history of property tax revenue. Note that the increase in FYOO reflects both significant increases in assessed values as well as assumption of library services by the City from the County. Fiscal Year 05 marks the first year the City began receiving "Property Taxes in Lieu of Vehicle License Fees (VLF)". The $3.58 million received is included in the Property Tax category in the table on the previous page and below. The City still receives a small share of VLF fees (about $715,000 in FY05), which is reflected in "Grants & Subventions" in the table on the previous page.
