, .... 6C - pLEASANTONc City Council Staff Report November 15, 2005 ~le\'emBer 1, 2005 City Manager SUBJECT YOUTH MASTER PLAN IMPLEMENT A nON COMMITTEE (YMPIC) PRIORITY WORKPLAN FOR 2005-06 STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends the City Council ratify the list of proposed Youth Master Plan Implementation Committee Priorities for 2005-06. SUMMARY The YMPIC members have created a proposed work program for the new school year. These priorities were presented and ratified at the October meeting of the PUSD Liaison Committee. As part of the process, both the City Council and the PUSD Board of Trustees must separately consider the matter at a regularly scheduled meeting. Once ratified, the YMPIC committee will begin working on the tasks identified in the priorities for the 2005-06 school year. Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: BACKGROUND The following is an update of the YMPIC projects proposed for the 2005-06 year. It is important to note that previous year priorities have either been completed or will be coordinated with a new priority, as submitted in this summary. The committee also discussed the importance of sponsoring events, activities, or a product (e.g. informational report or brochure) as part of the subcommittee work. There is a strong desire to sponsor a First Wednesday event in the downtown, to continue their involvement in events such as the Fishing Derby, Job Fair, and Youth in Government Day, and to promote the Youth Center Master Plan when it becomes available.
