CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA ORDINANCE NO. 1836 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.29 (YOUTH COMMISSION) OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH MAINTENANCE OF MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton maintains a number of Commissions for the purpose of incorporating resident participation regarding matters affecting the community; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Chapter 2.29 of the City Municipal Code to amend the maintenance of membership requirements related to employment with the City; and WHEREAS, this amendment will assure that all commissions are consistent relative to maintenance of membership requirements. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Chapter 2.29.050 Maintenance of Membership, Subsection (A) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code is amended as follows: 2.29.050(A): Persons appointed to the commission shall continue to serve as members of the commission except when: The commissioner's term of office on the Commission expires; The commissioner voluntarily resigns from the Commission; The commissioner is absent from one-third (1/3) of the regular meetings within a six (6) month period as provided in Section "C" below; The commissioner fails to maintain a primary residence in the city; The commissioner is employed by the City in a capacity related to the duties of the commission. Section 2: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall net affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinance. The City Council declares that it would have adopted each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion thereof irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional.
