CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1836 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2.29 (YOUTH COMMISSION) <br />OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH <br />MAINTENANCE OF MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City of Pleasanton maintains a number of Commissions for the purpose of <br />incorporating resident participation regarding matters affecting the community; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />it is necessary to amend Chapter 2.29 of the City Municipal Code to amend the <br />maintenance of membership requirements related to employment with the City; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this amendment will assure that all commissions are consistent relative to <br /> maintenance of membership requirements. <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: <br /> <br />Chapter 2.29.050 Maintenance of Membership, Subsection (A) of the Pleasanton <br />Municipal Code is amended as follows: <br /> <br />2.29.050(A): Persons appointed to the commission shall continue to serve as members of <br />the commission except when: <br /> <br />The commissioner's term of office on the Commission expires; <br />The commissioner voluntarily resigns from the Commission; <br />The commissioner is absent from one-third (1/3) of the regular meetings within a <br />six (6) month period as provided in Section "C" below; <br />The commissioner fails to maintain a primary residence in the city; <br />The commissioner is employed by the City in a capacity related to the duties of the <br />commission. <br /> <br />Section 2: <br /> <br />If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Ordinance is <br />for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of <br />competent jurisdiction, such decision shall net affect the validity of the remaining <br />portions of this Ordinance. The City Council declares that it would have adopted <br />each section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion thereof irrespective of <br />the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or <br />portions be declared invalid or unconstitutional. <br /> <br /> <br />
