The City's form application for appeal is attached together with our check in
the amount of $6.25.
At the Planning Commission meeting of July 27,2005, the Planning Commission
upheld your recommendation as Zoning Administrator for approval of our project but
added three additional conditions of approval to our proposed addition. We are
appealing two of these three additional conditions.
1) We object to the imposition of the replacement of the three trees to be
removed in connection with our proposed addition.
Mike Fulford, the City's Landscape Architect to whom you referred us as part
of the application process, reported in his memorandum to you on June 27,
2005, that "The Diaz residence possesses a LOT of trees" . . . "I would not
hesitate to grant Mr. And Mrs. Diaz permission to remove the subject trees in
order to proceed with their addition, and furthermore, considering the already
abundant number of large healthy trees on the property, I do not believe it
should be necessary to require them to plant additional trees . . ." Regrettably,
Mr. Fulford's report apparently was not available to the Planning Commission
at the time of their consideration of our addition.
