CalPERS California Public Employees' Retirement System EXHIBIT' AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT Between the Board of Administration California Public Employees' Retirement System and the City Council City of Pleuanton The Board of Administration. California Public Employees' Retirement System, hereinafier referred to as Board. and the governing body of the above public agency, hereinafter referred to as Public Agency, having entered into a contract effective September 1, 1953, and witnessed May 18, 1953, and as amended effective April 1. 1962, October 21, 1972, September 28, 1973,. January 5, 1980. January 3, 1981, April 11, 1981, September 20, 1986, February 18. 1987, June 13. 1987, September 5, 1987. February 26. 1993, May 7, 1993, December 8, 1995, April 1. 1996, May 3, 1996. October 31, 1998 and April 17, 1999 which provides for participation of Public Agency in said System, Board and Public Agency hereby agree as follows: Paragraphs I through 13 are hereby stricken from said contract as executed effective April 17, 1999, and hereby replaced by the following paragraphs numbered 1 through 13 inclusive: All words and terms used heroin which are defined in the Public Employees' Retirement Law shall have the meaning as defined therein unless otherwise specifically provided. "Normal retirement age" shall mean age 55 for local miscellaneous members and age 50 for local safety members. Public Agency shall pad~icipate in the Public Employees' Retirement System from and after September 1, 1953 making its employees as hereinafter provided, members of said System subject to all provisions of the Public Employees' Retirement Law except such as apply only on election of a contracting agency and are not provided for herein and to all amendments to said Law hereafter enacted except those, which by express provisions thereof. apply only on the election of a contracting agency.
