CalPERS <br /> <br /> California <br />Public Employees' Retirement System <br /> <br />EXHIBIT' <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT <br /> <br /> Between the <br /> Board of Administration <br />California Public Employees' Retirement System <br />and the <br /> City Council <br /> City of Pleuanton <br /> <br />The Board of Administration. California Public Employees' Retirement System, hereinafier <br />referred to as Board. and the governing body of the above public agency, hereinafter referred to <br />as Public Agency, having entered into a contract effective September 1, 1953, and witnessed <br />May 18, 1953, and as amended effective April 1. 1962, October 21, 1972, September 28, 1973,. <br />January 5, 1980. January 3, 1981, April 11, 1981, September 20, 1986, February 18. 1987, <br />June 13. 1987, September 5, 1987. February 26. 1993, May 7, 1993, December 8, 1995, April <br />1. 1996, May 3, 1996. October 31, 1998 and April 17, 1999 which provides for participation of <br />Public Agency in said System, Board and Public Agency hereby agree as follows: <br /> <br />Paragraphs I through 13 are hereby stricken from said contract as executed effective <br />April 17, 1999, and hereby replaced by the following paragraphs numbered 1 through 13 <br />inclusive: <br /> <br />All words and terms used heroin which are defined in the Public Employees' <br />Retirement Law shall have the meaning as defined therein unless otherwise <br />specifically provided. "Normal retirement age" shall mean age 55 for local <br />miscellaneous members and age 50 for local safety members. <br /> <br />Public Agency shall pad~icipate in the Public Employees' Retirement System from <br />and after September 1, 1953 making its employees as hereinafter provided, <br />members of said System subject to all provisions of the Public Employees' <br />Retirement Law except such as apply only on election of a contracting agency and <br />are not provided for herein and to all amendments to said Law hereafter enacted <br />except those, which by express provisions thereof. apply only on the election of a <br />contracting agency. <br /> <br /> <br />
