Pleasanton Downtown Association
DATE: March 29, 2005
TO: Jerry lserson
FROM: Christine Salidivar
RE: Public Restrooms
The Pleasanton Downtown Association appreciates the opportunity to provide input on location of
public restrooms. This is a matter of great importance for both businesses and visitors alike.
The Pleasanton Downtown Association supports the idea of a temporary facility as soon as possible.
The Design Committee requests the opportunity to review designs for temporary modular facilities that
could be located at LionsfWayside Park.
The Pleasanton Downtown Association remains vigilant to the need of multiple locations, both in the
parks and on Main Street. However, it is acknowledged that this is a long term project that requires
prioritizing to what is most feasible and can be accomplished as quickly as possible.
1. Delucchi Park by W. Angela
This is the PDA's first priority location. The Downtown Specific Plan and the Master Plan for
Downtown Parks and Trails specifies restrooms to be located in Delucchi Park. This is the most
opportune location as restrooms can be completed within a year and furthermore, will serve the
needs of Farmers Market.
2. Main StreetlCentrallocation - PPIE/Museum parking lot
A facility detached from either building.
3. Black Box Theater/Lions Wayside Park.
Although public restrooms are in the plans for this project it is at least 2 years out.
4. Veteran's Park at Peters & Division
Additionally, The Pleasanton Downtown Association would encourage the research of stand-alone, self
cleaning facilities on Main Street similar to San Francisco.
830 Main Street, Suite A
Pleasanton, CA 94566
Phone: (925) 484-2199 / Fax: (925) 484-3064
info@pleasantondowntown.net
www.pleasantondowntown.net
