This project consisted of the removal and replacement of damaged curb, gutter and sidewalk at Raven Road, Harvest Road, and Greenwood Road, to improve drainage and pedestrian safety. BUDGET Funds Annual Sidewalk Maintenance, CIP No. 045012 New Sidewalks & Access Ramps, CIP No. 045005 TOTAL $100,000 $9,719 $109,719 Expenditures Original Contract Change Orders TOTAL $96,447.50 $13,271.50 $109,719 Change orders were a result of additional unforeseen curb, gutter, driveway and sidewalk replacement required to maintain smooth transitions and improve drainage and pedestrian safety. The amount expended for change orders, $13,271.50, was less than the amount of project contingency authorized by City Council when the project was awarded ($14,466.50). Staff recommends that the City Council authorize a final payment of the retention to Rosas Brothers Construction in the amount of $10,971.90. Staff also recommends that the City Council approve the transfer of $9,719 from CIP No. 045005, New Sidewalks & Access Ramps, to this project. Staff previously identified in the March 15, 2005 City Council report the need for additional funding from the New Sidewalk & Access Ramp project in the amount of $10,914, but waited to appropriate the funding until the actual costs of the project were determined. FISCAL IMPACT This project is expected to reduce long-term maintenance costs.
