<br /> ,- <br /> 68 <br /> \.. ./ <br />pLEASANTONe City Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> September 20, 2005 <br /> Parks and Community Services <br />SUBJECT: APPROVAL OF COOPERATIVE FUNDING AGREEMENT WITH <br /> THE CITY OF DUBLIN AND EAST BAY REGIONAL PARK <br /> DISTRICT FOR THE ALAMO CANAL TRAIL FEASIBILITY <br /> STUDY, CIP 047020 <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> That the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute the proposed <br /> Cooperative Funding Agreement, including the allocation of $25,000 for the <br /> feasibility study. <br />SUMMARY: In June 2004, the City Council approved initial funding for the Alamo Canal <br /> Trail connection to Dublin, CIP 047020. This project is intended to close a <br /> major trail gap, and provide a recreational, non-motorized transportation <br /> path between Dublin and Pleasanton. The project would also provide <br /> alternate access to the Iron Horse Trail in Dublin. <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br />BACKGROUND <br />Currently, Pleasanton's portion of the Alamo Canal Trail terminates just south of the 1-580 <br />freeway, while Dublin's section terminates on the north side, near its City Hall and Library <br />complex. <br />The Council approved the FY 2004/05 Mid-Term Budget on June 15, 2004, which included <br />$100,000 in initial funding for the Alamo Canal Trail connection to Dublin, CIP 047020. This <br />project proposes to utilize $25,000 of that amount for the feasibility study. <br />SR 05:229 <br />Page 1 <br />
