ORDINANCE NO. 8I <br />~n Ord~nanc~ 'to Prevent the Obstructlot~ of Sidewalks <br />and Street Crossings in the Town of Pleasanton. <br /> The Board of Trustees of the Town of Pleasantoh <br />do ordain as follows: <br /> Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any persons <br />the number of two or more, to obstruct the free use of <br />sidewalks to the Town of Pleasanton, by standing, or <br />otherwise, in or near the middle thereof, in groups, <br />crowds or otherwise, obstructing the free use thereof <br />by foot passen~:ers thereon. And at all times whe~ any <br />civil, military or funeral procession is passin~ on the <br />streets, a free passage mus~ be left open, so ~hat ~11 <br />Dersons may pass and repass thereon without hindrance <br />nr obstruction. And when persons crowding: the side- <br />walks on such occasions are requested or ordered <br />move on, or open a passage-way by an officer of the <br /> , <br />Town, they shall do so at once. <br /> Sec. 2. It shall also be unla~vful for any person, or <br />persons to obtsruct the free use of the street crossing in <br />said To'~en, by either s~anding in groups, or by allowing <br />any of his or their wagon or wagbus, carriage or car- <br />riages, buggy or buggies, cart or carts, cab or cribs, <br />~utomobiles, auto-bicycles or bicycles or any other ve- <br />hicle by stopping, or allowing or causing any of saicl <br />vehicles to stand theeton for more than two minutes, <br />~t any one time. <br /> Sec. 3. Any person violating any of the ~rovisions <br />of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor <br />and upon a plea of guilty or conviction, shall be <br />for each offense not exceeding the sum of One Hundred <br />Dollars. ($100.00), or by imprisonment in the Town jail <br />not exceeding fifty (50) days, and any judgment that <br />the defendant pay a fine shall also direct that the de- <br />fendant be imprisoned until such fine is satisfied, in <br />case such fine is not paid, in the proportion of one daV's <br />imprisonment for every two dollars ($2.00) fine so im- <br />posed. <br /> Sec. 4. !This Ordinance shall be published i-,~ th~ <br />Pleasanton Times, and shall take effect immediateIF <br />after its publication. <br /> C.
