issuance of building permits. Parking lot lights shall match the parking lot lighting used <br /> in the adjacent Pleasanton Corporate Commons complex, including the use of cut-off <br /> shield fixtures to prevent glare onto adjacent properties or roadways. <br /> <br />14. No trees shall be removed other than those specifically designated for removal on the <br /> approved plans. The applicant shall be responsible for the loss of any tree not previously <br /> approved for removal. The applicant shall post cash, letter of credit, certificate of deposit <br /> (CD), or other security satisfactory to the Planning Director in the amount of $5,000 for <br /> each tree required to be preserved, up to a maximum of $25,000. This cash bond or <br /> security shall be retained for one year following completion of construction and shall be <br /> forfeited if the trees are removed, destroyed, or disfigured. For trees that are removed, <br /> destroyed, or disfigured during construction, the applicant shall pay a fine in the amount <br /> equal to the appraised value of the subject tree. If the fine based on the appraised value <br /> of the tree(s) exceeds the bond amount, the applicant shall pay the difference between the <br /> bond and the appraised value of the subject tree(s). <br /> <br />15. Protective chain link fencing shall be installed around the existing trees to be saved <br /> during all construction activities. The location of said fencing shall be subject to the <br /> review and approval of the Planning Director. In addition, the following tree <br /> preservation methods shall be followed: <br /> <br /> a) The applicant shall utilize his best efforts to locate any new utility trenches outside <br /> the ddpline of the existing trees to be saved. <br /> <br /> b) No oil, gasoline, chemicals, or other harmful materials shall be deposited or <br /> disposed within the dripline of the existing trees to be saved or in drainage channels, <br /> swales, or areas that may lead to the dripline. <br /> <br /> c) No signs, wires, or ropes shall be attached to the existing trees to be saved. <br /> <br /> d) No stockpiling/storage of construction materials, fill, etc., shall take place <br /> underneath or within 5' of the dripline of the existing trees to be saved. <br /> <br /> e) No equipment or temporary structures shall be placed within or beneath the <br /> driplines of the existing trees to be saved. <br /> <br /> Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a stop-work order. <br /> <br />16. All demolition work, site improvements, and construction activities shall be limited to the <br /> hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. All construction equipment <br /> must meet DMV noise standards and shall be equipped with muffling devices. <br /> <br /> Page - 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
