member's failure to attend the meetings in question were not justified, the City Council <br />shall terminate the term of office of the member and declare the office vacant. <br /> <br />If the Council declares any office vacant, City staff will notify the affected commissioner <br />that his/her term has been officially terminated. The vacancy will be filled in accordance <br />with the City's regular appointment schedule. <br /> <br />The information supplied by the commissioners meets the requirements of the ordinance <br />and staff recommends that the Council accept the information as provided. The City has <br />historically appointed interested and committed commissioners. The attendance <br />requirements are to ensure that the commission meetings are regularly attended so that the <br />City's business can be conducted.
