The amount of subgrade materials that are unsuitable and must be replaced with an additional 4" or 6" of asphalt concrete cannot be accurately predetermined. Once the base is compacted, a geotechnical consultant will review the condition of the soil and indicate to the City where additional excavation of unsuitable material may be necessary. Traffic buttons and line markers within the Stoneridge Mall area was scheduled to be replaced as part of the Project No. 035007 (Annual Traffic Buttons and Line Marker Installation), but was combined with the subject project.
