This construction method includes treating existing crushed <br />asphalt concrete, base materials and native soil with a 4% by weight base stabilizer and paving <br />over the prepared base with a layer of asphalt concrete (AC). The" Total Recycle" method <br />does not require off-hauling of existing AC, but recycles those materials on site. The recycle <br />process proposed will add strength to existing roadway base material in place. The addition of <br />4 % base stabilizer will add strength and stabilize the existing unstable soil directly under the <br />pavement. <br /> <br />Project No. 045004 ( Slurry Sealing of Various City Streets) <br /> <br />Project No. 045004 consists of the application of a slurry seal coating to approximately <br />1,085,000 square feet to the following fifteen (15) City streets with latex emulsified asphalt <br />with Type II black volcanic aggregate. Slurry sealing is used to extend the life of existing <br />street pavements when the Pavement Condition Index still exceeds 70.
