When the Tax Collector discovers that any <br />property has been assessed more than; once for the same <br />>.ear, he must collect only the tax justly due, and make <br />return of the facts under affidavit to the Town Clerk. <br />Sec. 27. If the Tax Collector discovers before <br />sale that on acconnt of irregular assessment or any <br />other error, any land ougl~t not to be sold,. he must not <br />offer the same for sale, and the Board of' Trustees must <br />cause the Assesscr to enter the uncollected taxas upo.n <br />the Assessment Books of the next succeeding year, to be <br />collected as other taxes entered thereon. <br />Sec. 28. When land is sold for taxes correctly im- <br />posed as the property of a particular person, no mis- <br />nomer of thle owner, or other mistake relating to the <br />ownership thereof shall effect the sale or render it void <br />or voidable. <br />The Town Assessor must collect the taxes on all per- <br />sonal property, when in his opinion said taxes are not a <br />lien upon real property sufficient to secure the payment <br />of the taxes. He shall pay into the treasury monthly, on <br />the first Monday of each month, all personal property <br />taxes collected by him, and in his hands, for any pre- <br />ceding month or time, and make settlement thereof with <br />the Town Treasurer taking his receipt for moneys so <br />paid. <br />Sec. 29. The Assessor shall be governed as to the <br />amount of taxes to be by him collected on personal prop- <br />erty by the rate of the previous year. <br />Sec. 30.--Repeajing section. <br />Sec. 31.
