Valley Trails
Homeowners Assoaation

' JUN ! ,1 2005
Dear Pleasanton City Council, L' --

The Valley Trails Homeowner's Association was very surprised to hear that the Planning
Commission had approved the St. Claire's Episcopal Church proposal.

In February, the church presented their plan at our Homeowner's Association meeting. It
was very contentious, but ! pointed out to the homeowners that the church was listening
to us and had indicated they would revise their plans. I suggested that we give St. Claire's
a chance to see what they could do with our input. The church Pastors, both Paul and
Dave, agreed to come to our next meeting in May, a potluck, and show us what they had
come up with. We offered to set them up at a table where they could talk one on one with
the homeowners.

They did not show up, and did not call to sa) they weren t coming. The meeting was the
day after the Planning Commission meeting. I can only conclude they decided that they
didn't need us anymore.

I am surprised that they, basically, went behind our backs and don't seem to be interested
in working with us anymore. This is not indicative of the relationship that we have had in
the past between the Valley Trails Homeowner's Association and St. Claire's Church.

I'm very disappointed. The residents of Valley 'Frails have a right to be heard before
these decisions are made.

Sincerely, .
