CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, ALAMEDA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 05- <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE APPROVAL OF CREEKSIDE MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY <br /> SERVING THE GREATER TRI-VALLEY COMMUNITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in 2003, the Tri-Valley Council formed the Tri-Valley Cemetery <br /> Committee to conduct a series of meetings to discuss the need for <br /> added cemetery space, regionally; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, late in 2004, the Tri-Valley Council heard a presentation by Corrie <br /> Development for a regional cemetery and recommended that each of <br /> the five Tri-Valley City Councils consider adopting a resolution of <br /> support for the project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this date, the Pleasanton City Council heard an updated presentation <br /> by Corrie Development generally describing the proposed cemetery <br /> project and its attendant benefits for Pleasanton and the greater Tri- <br /> Valley community; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed 216-acre project is located in unincorporated Contra <br /> Costa County on APN 223-020-005 and 223-020-007, and is generally <br /> situated on Camino Tassajara near the Contra Costa/Alameda County <br /> line. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: The City Council recognizes the great need for additional burial space <br /> for Pleasanton and Tri-Valley residents. <br /> <br /> Section 2: The proposed Creeksite Memorial Park Cemetery in unincorporated <br /> Contra Costa County would address a significant portion of that need. <br /> <br /> Section 3: The City of Pleasanton urges Contra Costa County to expedite the <br /> conditional use permit approval process. <br /> <br /> <br />
