' <br /> <br /> 'An Ordh~ance to Establish, M~.in~Jaln t~nd Govern a <br />Public Ponnd In the Town of Pleasanton~ Could7 <br />Alameda, St~te of California. <br /> <br />The Board :of Trt~stees of the Town of PleaSanton does <br />ordain as follows: <br />Section 1. It.shall be unlawful for any ox, bull, eow, <br />horse, colt, jack, jenny, mule. calf, slak~e,p, goat or swine <br />to run at large within the limits of th~ TOwn of Pleas- <br />antes or to be pastured, 1/erded. staked or ~tted for the <br />purpose of grazing. or feeding or being fed, on any high- <br />way, road, railroad, street. lane alley place court or <br />common within the corporate limits of said Town; and <br />it shall also be unlawful t'or any stock or animals of say <br />kind to be tied, st,~ked, h~rded, paztured or allowed to <br />run a.t large ,.upon any Private propar, ty in said Town, un- <br />less by the consent ot the owner or occupant of such <br />property; Prov~.ded that any of said animals may be <br />pa~ ured on the sides of any str~tst or streets, <br />proptry owned or occul)ted by the owner, ~r owners o1~ <br />the same; but such ~'.nimals must be held by s. rope. hal-: <br />ter or other tether, by some responsible person, during <br />such pasturage, av, d must not be allowed to injure the <br />trees on such srreet'~ ~t:'eets, nor be allowed in the' <br />middle of such street or streets at any time, except <br />when being driven cr led to or from Such pasture, or to' <br />or from any c, ther I.~sture ou~sid~ of the Town. <br />Sec. 2. The Bo~rd of Trustees of the!~0~n~f Pl. eas- <br />an~c,n shall ~point. a suitable person to act as pound- <br />master to serve dx:ring their pleasure. who before en- <br />tering upon the dtschf. rge of his duties shall ms~ke and <br />'execute a good and sufficient bond, with two or more <br />sureties, in the sum of $200,00., payable to the Town <br />of Pleasanton, and .eenditioned for th'e faithful perform-' <br />ante of his duties cs such Pound Ma~ter; or the:Board <br />may appoint the q.awn Marshal to act as such !Pound <br />Master, in which :=ase the Marsh.al shall not be required <br />to give such addttio:xal bond, but shall be responsible on <br />his official bond given as Marshal. <br />~ee. 3.
