ORDINANCE NO. 43. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance Re-Ests~bHshing the Grade of the Side- <br />Walk on the Eastern Side of Main Street Betwee~ DiVi- <br />sion and Sp~'ing Streets, and RegulWting the Size, Thick- <br />ness, Materials and Uniformity of All C~onc~ete Gutters <br />On All SWeets. <br /> <br /> The Board of Trustees of the Town of Pleasanton does <br />ordain as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. The grade of the sidewalk on the Eastern <br />side of Main Stre~t from the Norfaern line of Div- <br />ision Street is hereby changed and r~established so that <br />thee top of the sane shall be eight inches abova the top <br />of the curb, as no~v set, from a point six (?~ ~ feet South <br />of the Northern li~.~e of Division street, thence ~,To~therly <br />to the Northern line of Mrs. Flora ft.. Cutler's lot; and <br />from thence, to a po4nt exactly on a line with the South- <br />ern line of St. Mary's Street. decreasing gradually to the <br />top of tl~e c~rb as now s~t; and thence to the Southern <br />line of Spring Street on a line with ~aid curb; said side- <br />waks, when laid, shall not extend any closer to the curt, <br />t~an 12 inches; a~na o:~ a line with the s.~d curb. there <br />shall be a ~tep 12 inches wide, 8 inches: from the top of <br />the pavement or sidewalk. <br /> <br /> This last provisic, n shall only apply in as far as said <br />sidewalks rise abo~e the curb, as now set. <br /> <br /> Sec. 2. All Concrete gutters, put in by property own- <br />ers in front Of their lands, shall be o~ uniform size, <br />pitch and shade, on each block or square, as follows: <br /> <br /> The inside o~ said gutters, next to the curb, sh~ll be <br />nine i9) inches belov,- its top, and thence, so, as to make <br />the said gutter twenty-four (24) inches wide from the <br />cutside of the curb, and at that point it shall be seven <br />(7) inches below the top of the curb, and the form ot <br />the gutter to be in ~ straight line between the two said <br />poipts. <br /> <br /> The said gutters slyall be made of the best. first-class, <br />~.1, fresh Portland cement, with best cleaned gravel <br />and sand, mixed according to standard specifications; <br />and shall be put in, not less th.an four inches in depth <br />and thickness--well rammed ar.d packed~the outer <br />edge rounded, and t~rned down.
