<br />Exhibit B <br />Temporary Exception to the Sign Ordinance for <br />Interstate-S80lHopyard Road Interchange Businesses <br /> <br />A. Business identification banners, and/or banners advertising special promotions or sales <br />shall be allowed for 1-580lHopyard Road interchange businesses during the 1- <br />580/Hopyard Road interchange construction project. For purposes of this section, 1- <br />580/Hopyard Road interchange businesses are those businesses located within the area <br />designated "Permitted Area for Temporary Banners," Exhibit C, on the map <br />following this section and incorporated herein by reference. <br /> <br />B. Banners allowed under this section shall conform to the following: <br /> <br />1. No more than one banner is allowed for each business; <br /> <br />2. 5 ft. maximum height; <br /> <br />3. 20 ft. maximum width; <br /> <br />4. illumination of the banner is prohibited; and <br /> <br />5. Banners must be placed on the building wall or windows only and cannot <br />extend above the roofline or parapet of the building. <br /> <br />6. No large hot or cold air balloons shall be allowed. <br /> <br />C. No design review approval or fee is required for banners permitted under this section, <br />provided that the banners strictly adhere to the standards in subsection "B" above. <br />No banner shall be erected or maintained in a manner which is unsightly or unsafe, <br />which blocks visibility of another business sign or storefront window, which creates a <br />traffic visibility hazard, or which creates an obstruction to pedestrians. <br /> <br />D. The sign exceptions noted above shall expire when work on the 1-580/Hopyard Road <br />interchange is substantially complete, as determined by the Planning Director. At <br />such time, the permanent sign regulations of Chapter 18.96 of the Municipal Code <br />shall be in full force and effect and all banners erected under the sign exceptions shall <br />be removed. <br />
