<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-94-28 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF CASE RZ-94-03, THE <br />APPLICATION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO AMEND CHAPTER 18.96 <br />OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE TO ALLOW TEMPORARY EXCEPTIONS <br />TO THE SIGN ORDINANCE REGULATIONS DURING CONSTRUCTION AND <br />REVIEW OF AN APPLICATION TO ALLOW TEMPORARY RELAXED SIGN <br />REGULATIONS FOR BUSINESSES IN THE VICINITY OF I-S80/HOPYARD <br />ROAD INTERCHANGE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton has applied to 1) amend Chapter <br />18.96 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to allow the <br />Planning Director to grant temporary exceptions to the <br />sign ordinance regulations during construction projects, <br />and 2) review of an application to allow temporary <br />relaxed sign regulations for businesses in the vicinity <br />of I-580/Hopyard Road interchange; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed pUblic hearing of May 25, 1994, the <br />Planning Commission considered all pUblic testimony, <br />relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the city staff <br />concerning this application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the <br />requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning commission recommended approval of the <br />amendment to Chapter 18.96 of the Pleasanton Municipal <br />Code; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Planning commission determined that the request to <br />allow temporary banners for the businesses in the <br />vicinity of the I-580/Hopyard Road interchange is <br />consistent with the proposed draft ordinance and would <br />assist businesses which are impacted by the freeway <br />construction project. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1. Recommends approval of Case RZ-94-03, the application <br />to allow temporary relaxed sign regulations for <br />businesses 1n the vicinity of I-580/Hopyard Road <br />interchange, as shown on Exhibit "B" (standards), and <br />Exhibit "C" (permitted Area for Temporary Banners) with <br />the elimination of the businesses on Johnson Drive, <br />attached hereto and made part of this case by reference. <br /> <br />]1 <br /> <br />II <br />
