<br />PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. PC-94-20 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION FINDING AN URGENCY FOR A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CITY <br />STAFF'S INTEGRITY AND PROFESSIONALISM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an article appeared in the April 20, 1994, edition of The <br />Independent newspaper, entitled "'Dream Team' revisits <br />Golden Eagle Controversy, Did Staff 'Grease the Skids' <br />for Ted Fairfield?"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a columnist of The Independent, Ira Eisenberg, appeared <br />on Channel 30 alleging the same Pleasanton city staff <br />members of improprieties and abuse of their positions as <br />a result of City staff's recommendation approving the <br />Golden Eagle Subdivision, as stated in the above <br />referenced newspaper article, and specifically naming <br />City staff members Mr. Gary Smith and Mr. Brian Swift; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 27, 1994, the Planning Commission <br />determined that it would be appropriate to prepare a <br />formal resolution expressing the Commission's confidence <br />in the city Staff. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />section 1. Finds that the circumstances regarding the newspaper <br />article in the April 20, 1994, edition of The <br />Independent, and the comments made by columnist Ira <br />Eisenberg on Channel 30 alleging Pleasanton City staff <br />members of improprieties and abuse of their positions <br />warrant the need for a resolution supporting staff's <br />integrity and professionalism, and that the need for <br />action came to the attention of the Planning Commission <br />subsequent to the agenda being posted. <br /> <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON ON THE 27TH DAY OF APRIL 1994 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: <br /> <br />Commissioners Hovingh, Mahern, Michelotti, Wright, and <br />Chairman McGuirk <br />None <br />None <br />None <br /> <br />AYES: <br /> <br />.. <br />
