PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. PC-94-20 RESOLUTION FINDING AN URGENCY FOR A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CITY STAFF'S INTEGRITY AND PROFESSIONALISM WHEREAS, an article appeared in the April 20, 1994, edition of The Independent newspaper, entitled "'Dream Team' revisits Golden Eagle Controversy, Did Staff 'Grease the Skids' for Ted Fairfield?"; and WHEREAS, a columnist of The Independent, Ira Eisenberg, appeared on Channel 30 alleging the same Pleasanton city staff members of improprieties and abuse of their positions as a result of City staff's recommendation approving the Golden Eagle Subdivision, as stated in the above referenced newspaper article, and specifically naming City staff members Mr. Gary Smith and Mr. Brian Swift; and WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 27, 1994, the Planning Commission determined that it would be appropriate to prepare a formal resolution expressing the Commission's confidence in the city Staff. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: section 1. Finds that the circumstances regarding the newspaper article in the April 20, 1994, edition of The Independent, and the comments made by columnist Ira Eisenberg on Channel 30 alleging Pleasanton City staff members of improprieties and abuse of their positions warrant the need for a resolution supporting staff's integrity and professionalism, and that the need for action came to the attention of the Planning Commission subsequent to the agenda being posted. Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
