No formal action was taken by Council with regard to the ACE Train Station. It was moved by Mayor Hosterman, seconded by Mr. Brozosky, to provide an alternative design concept to locate the Cultural Arts Center in the northeast corner of the Bernal property to include eight multi-use sports fields. Mr. Sullivan said he would support the motion if it did not include the placement of the outdoor amphitheater adjacent to the neighbors. Mayor Hosterman shared Mr. Sullivan's concerns about the placement of the Amphitheater. She would like Council to have the opportunity to discuss this issue separately. She wanted to give staff the opportunity to prepare a design concept without having to deal with this particular issue. Mr. Sullivan said he would not support the motion as it takes the three site plan alternatives that Council eliminated and moves the indoor portion of the Cultural Arts Center to the northeast comer while leaving the outdoor amphitheater in the same location. Mr. Brozosky asked if staff needed additional direction pertaining to the outdoor amphitheater, as it would change the layout of the sports fields. Mr. Fialho suggested that Council take action on the motion as previously made by Mayor Hosterman. The roll call vote was taken was follows: AYES: Councilmembers -Brozosky, McGovern, Sullivan, and Mayor Hosterman NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None It was moved by Mr. Sullivan to eliminate the outdoor amphitheater from the 45-acre location where the sports fields are currently planned to be located. Mayor Hosterman asked what would happen if Council were to discover that there is an opportunity to locate the outdoor amphitheater in this area in such a way that it would not interfere with the quality of life of the existing neighbors? Mr. Sullivan said he would be willing to consider a concept plan that places the outdoor amphitheater near the train station. He would not support a concept plan that placed the outdoor amphitheater anywhere within the western fringe of the Community Park. The motion died due to lack of a second. Mr. Sullivan believed Council was responding to the arts and sports community but not to the neighboring residents.
