CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />VINEYARD & BERNAL AVENUES STREETSCAPE <br />MAY 25, 2004 <br /> <br />A. SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />and the necessary corrective measures to achieve the project <br />completion date. The schedule will clearly outline all completed <br />tasks with an elapsed time evaluation, and shall identify tasks that <br />need to be completed with due dates. The schedule will be <br />modified and updated throughout the course of the project. <br /> <br />We recommend the following schedule for the Vineyard <br />Streetscape project: Advertise and Open Bids in January. This <br />month provides for the lowest bids from Contractors. <br /> <br />1.2. Design Team Quality Control - CONSULTANT has an in-house Quality <br /> Control Program. There are five steps to our Quality Control Program. <br /> Listed below are the Quality Control steps that CONSULTANT shall take <br /> to ensure the highest quality engineering. <br /> <br />1.2.1. <br /> <br />Independent Plan Review - One of CONSULTANT's outside <br />offices will perform an independent plan review at the 95% design <br />level. <br /> <br />1.2.2. <br /> <br />Survey Mock-up at the 95% Submittal - CONSULTANT will <br />performs a field survey stake out of the job at the 95% design to <br />verify conforms, cross slopes, downstream connections, sawcut <br />line elevations, benchmarks, monuments, and other pertinent <br />information. <br /> <br />1.2.3, <br /> <br />PS&E Checklist for Measurement and Payment - <br />CONSULTANT has a standard form to use to verify consistency in <br />the PS&E for measurement and payment. Many change orders <br />during construction are simply caused by inconsistencies in the <br />measurements and payments between the plans, bid form and <br />spec. <br /> <br />1.2.4. <br /> <br />Team Presubmittals to CONSULTANT - All Subconsultants are <br />required to submit to CONSULTANT 1 week prior to each formal <br />submittal to the Client. We find that this measure does not take <br />much extra time, but reduces the number of mistakes significantly. <br /> <br />1.2.5. <br /> <br />Quality Control is Part of Project Schedule - CONSULTANT <br />takes QC seriously and includes this project aspect in the overall <br />project schedule to emphasize its importance. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
