Section 7: Chapter 7.32 (Rabies) of the Pleasanton Municipal Code shall be amended to <br />read as follows: <br /> <br />"Chapter 7.32 Rabies <br /> <br />7.32.010 Biting animals to be quarantined. Whenever it is shown that any dog or <br />other animal has bitten any person or animals, or exhibits evidence of rabies, no owner or <br />person having custody or possession thereof, upon order of the Chief of Policeheatih <br />o~ic~, shall fail, refuse or neglect to quarantine such animal and keep it tied up or <br />confined for a period often days, or shall fail, refuse or neglect to allow the ....... <br />offte~Chief of Police~ to make an inspection or examination thereof at any <br />time during said period. No such dog or animal shall be removed or released during the <br /> w~thout written permlss~on of the ...................... r ...... h~ef of <br />quarantine period .... ~.~.~ ~c~. ..... ~.;~ ~ .... .;~or, · <br /> <br />Police. Unless otherwise specified by the Sc-CtS cfficcrChief of Police, such animals shall <br />be confined in a shelter or veterinary hospital at the owner's expense. <br /> <br />7.32.020, no change. <br /> <br />7.32.030 Knowledge of bite - Duty to report. Whenever any owne~ <br />charge ....... ~^~ .... ,~ ........... ;~. of any animal has knowledge that such <br />animal has bitten any person or animal, or has been bitten by another animal, the <br /> ..... ~.~.,: .... ~. ............ ,~ ...... .~ ........... :~ 0fs ch animal shall <br />report said fact forthwith to the diraclarChief of Police. A copy of the report shall be forwarded by the <br />~Chief of Police to the county health officer within forty-eight hours." <br /> <br />Section 8: Chapter 7.36 (Miscellaneous Animal Regulations) of the Pleasanton Municipal <br />Code shall be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Chapter 7.36 Miscellaneous Animal Regulations <br /> <br />7.36.010 Household pets. The keeping or maintenance of any household pet or pets or <br />any other animal or animals in such manner, number or kind as to cause damage or <br />hazard to persons or property in the vicinity or to generate offensive noise, dust or odor, <br />shall not be permitted. <br /> <br />7.36.020 Police dogs - Interference or mistreatment. No person shall wi!fu!!}~villfullv <br />or maliciously torture, torment, beat, kick, strike, mutilate, injure, disable or kill any dog <br />used by the county sheriffor police department in the performance of the functions or <br />duties of such department, or interfere with or meddle with any such dog while being <br />used by the department or any member thereof in the performance of any of the functions <br />or duties of the department or of such officer or member. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AMENDING 8 <br />TITLES 7 A~D 13 OF THE PLEASANTON MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> <br /> <br />
