MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

1. Commissioner McGuirk raised the question after reading the Park and Recreation
Minutes regarding the possibility of the City using scoreboards donated by different
companies whether this might need to be considered in the sign program. Mr. Rasmussen
replied that it is possible this issue may need to go before the Design Review Board.

2. Chairman Mahern raised the question as to whether the drive-thru video construction in
Valley Plaza had gone before the Design Review Board. It was confirmed that it had.

3. Commissioner Michelotti called staffs attention to a possible need for a lighted green
arrow to denote a right turn at Stoneridge and Santa Rita Road. She felt this might be
helpful at peak hours. Mr. Higdon replied that it would be checked out.

4. Commissioner Michelotti called attention to the new practice of having the staff report
printed on both sides. She said it was much more difficult for her to go through two-sided
reports. Several of the Commissioners agreed the report is harder to read that way, but felt
it was being done in order to save paper. Mr. Rasmussen said he would relay the message
back to Mr. Swift.

5. Chairman Mahern called attention to a walk light at Case and Bernal Avenue that is
apparently causing some confusion for Seniors who cross there. She suggested that this light
might be checked out and possibly lengthen the timing so that they can cross the street
easier.

NEW BUSINESS - PUBLIC HEARINGS

UP-91-54. She stated she has reviewed
the conditions and concurs with all of them.

THE PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED.

Commissioner Michelotti stated that the plans were very good and wished all the plans seen
were as simple to approve.

A motion was made by Commissioner Michelotti, seconded by Commissioner McGuirk
making the required conditional use permit findings and approving Case UP-91-54 subject to
the conditions listed in Exhibit B.

Minute.
