THE CITY OF 4J <br /> city Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> June 7, 2005 <br /> Public Works Depamnent <br /> <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR CURB AND <br /> GUTTER REPLACEMENT, PROJECT NO. 035009 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br /> meeting of June 7, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for this project. <br /> <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for this <br /> project. <br /> <br /> 3. Authorize final payment to AJW Construction in the amount of <br /> $673.48. <br /> <br /> 4. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $13,560.95 to <br /> AJW Construction thirty days after filing the Notice of Completion. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: Construction of this project is complete and ready for acceptance. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On June 15, 2004, the City Council awarded the construction contract for this project to the <br />lowest bidder, AJW Construction, of Oakland, in the amount of $121,987.50. <br /> <br />This project consisted of the removal and replacement of damaged curb, gutter and sidewalk <br />prior to the annual street resurfacing project, CIP No. 035003RS, at the following locations: <br /> <br /> SR:05:141 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
