THE CITY OF V~ <br /> <br />pL£AS&NTON, cit , Council <br /> Staff Report <br /> <br /> June 7, 2005 <br /> Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE <br /> REALIGNMENT OF VINEYARD AVENUE, PROJECT 025014 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br /> meeting of June 7, 2005: <br /> <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br /> <br /> 2. Direct Greenbriar Homes Inc. to file a Notice of Completion for the <br /> subject project. <br /> <br /> 3. Authorize final payment to Greenbriar Homes Inc. in reimbursement for <br /> work completed by the roadway general contractor, DeSilva Gates <br /> Corporation, in the amount of $127,494.77. <br /> <br /> 4. Authorize payment in reimbursement to Greenbriar Homes Inc., in the <br /> amount of $338,344.37, thirty days after the filing of the Notice of <br /> Completion. <br /> <br />SUMMARY Construction of roadway improvements for the realignment of Vineyard <br /> Avenue, as well as the initial phase of construction of the school loop road, <br /> is complete and ready for acceptance. <br /> <br /> The City had entered into a reimbursement agreement with Greenbriar <br /> Homes Inc. to pay for required Vineyard Avenue roadway improvements <br /> that were to be constructed commensurate with the Vineyard Avenue <br /> Corridor Specific Plan. Now that this phase of infrastructure construction <br /> within the Vineyard Corridor is complete, staff recommends accepting the <br /> roadway improvements and authorizing Greenbriar Homes to make the final <br /> progress payment to DeSilva Gates, the general contractor, and releasing the <br /> <br /> St~:05:120 <br /> Page 1 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
