Absolute Dent & Detail <br />Application Cor a conditional use pennit to establish an auto body repair shop Cor <br />"paintless dent repair" located at 3657 Old Santa Rita Road. Zoning Cor the property is <br />C-S (Commercial-Service) District. <br /> <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report regarding the application for a conditional use permit to <br />establish an auto body repair shop. This type of auto body repair is a new technology for <br />auto dent removal. All work will take place within the building/suite, there will be no <br />painting, and the process is very quiet. Staff recommends approval of this application. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS OPENED <br /> <br />Ian Cordle, 3657 Old Santa Rita Road, Suite E, represented this application. Mr. Cordle <br />stated he has read and agrees with the staff report findings and conditions. He described to <br />the Commission the process of "massaging" dents out, requiring no painting. He has had <br />extensive experience in training other auto body technicians in this technique. <br /> <br />In response to Chairman McGuirk, Mr. Cordle advised that he is able to determine whether <br />he can fix the dent completely or only partially, at which point he advises the customer that <br />they will then have to go to a paint! detail shop for further repair. <br /> <br />Responding to Commissioner Wright, Mr. Cordle stated that he goes to the premises of car <br />dealerships to perform dent removal rather than the cars being brought to his place of <br />business. <br /> <br />In response to Commissioner Finch, the size of Mr. Cordle's shop constrains him from being <br />able to have more than five employees. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING WAS CLOSED <br /> <br />A motion was made by Cornrni....ioner Michelotti, seconded by Cornrni..~ioner Mahern, <br />making the conditional use pennit C"mdings and approving Case UP-94-15, subject to the <br />conditions listed in Exhibit "B." <br /> <br />~ <br />, <br /> <br />Planning Commission Minutes <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />May 11, 1994 <br /> <br />- <br />
